Scenes taken during car journeys.

Our 11-day trip to Nepal involved car journeys that averaged 6 hours in duration. First of which was the journey from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park where we stayed a night and then it was a 5-hour journey to Lumbini. The following day, we travelled 6 hours to Pokhara, stayed two nights and then it was another long car journey to Nagatok. Thankfully, after that it was only a 2-hour journey back to Kathmandu where we stayed two more nights before leaving for home.

So, how does one survive such long car journeys? Reading is out of question; listening to music is possible for as long as the Ipod battery lasted. I overcane boredom by taking photos along the way and time passed pleasantly in observing and capturing of the Nepali way of life from a moving car. In the countryside, rice-growing took up most of the land and  towns and villages whizzed past except where we stopped to take a break to have a cup of tea. Here's what I saw from the window of the car that took us on dusty roads, winding mountain roads in need of repair, from lowland to highland and from rural areas through vast expanse of harvested rice fields.
