Nagakot, another chance to see the Annapurna Range.

Nagakot is a mountain resort where we stayed for two nights after we left Pokhara. We arrived late after a long 6-hour journey and not being able to do much, we stayed in our hotel room hoping for a glorious sunset on the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna Range. Our hopes exceeded what reality could offer and we were disappointed again.

The next day, we took a leisurely walk to the village on our own, discovered Viewpoint Hotel down the road that gave us a bird's eye view of the surroundings. But alas, the mountains were not ready to meet us.

October being the best season to enjoy the splendid view of the mountain range, we were once again,  deprived of this enjoyment by what was possibly the dire effects of global-warming. The Nepali could not understand why this October the Annapurna range was cloaked in fog or smog or whatever that could not be explained by the lay person. We did not want to understand, we just wanted to see the mountains, really badly.

Sunset from our hotel room. No snow-capped peaks were visible.
View from the dining area where we had breakfast.
Good breakfast to start the day.

Walking down to the village.

Taken with a zoom lens, a few peaks.

Clouds eliminated our view of the mountains.

Lunch at Viewpoint Hotel in Nagakot.

Fortress hotel, next to Viewpoint Hotel.

Back at our hotel, the Chautari.

End of a day in Nagakot.
